Milford Luminaries
Honoring those who light the way for our community

A white background with a few lines on it

During these unprecedented times, members of the community have stepped up in countless ways to help their friends, families, and neighbors. The coronavirus pandemic has changed our lives, but it has not changed how we can support and depend on one another: it has reminded us of the many people who give back to their communities.

For the second year, Alene Candles will honor those who have met the current moment with its Milford Luminaires program. With the public’s help, Alene Candles will recognize four outstanding individuals for going above and beyond for the Milford community during the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, Alene will help community organizations by contributing $4,000 to area nonprofits or schools, with each recipient choosing where to direct a $1,000 donation. Nominations are due by October 16, 2020.

Alene Candles wants to do its part by shining a light on the people who are making a difference during this time of crisis, whether they are raising funds for a local food bank, organizing a neighborhood to help care for older neighbors or sewing masks for residents and first responders. There are so many people doing so much for our community during the coronavirus crisis.

Friends, colleagues, or family members can nominate deserving individuals whose efforts directly impact the town or people of Milford for this recognition. Nominators will be asked to share specific information about the nominee’s contributions to the community. Recipients will be selected based on their contributions to the Milford community during these extraordinary times.
